                        10. Tevijjasuttavannana
      [99] Dasame dhammenati nayena, sammapatipattisankhatena hetuna
karanena. Yaya hi patipadaya tevijjo hoti, sa patipada idha dhammoti
veditabbam. Ka pana sa patipadati? caranasampada ca vijjasampada ca. Tevijjanti
pubbenivasanussatinanadihi tihi vijjahi samannagatam. Brahmananti
bahitapapabrahmanam. Pannapemiti "brahmano"ti pajanapemi patitthapemi. Nannam
lapitalapanamattenati annam jatimattabrahmanam atthakadihi lapitamattavippalapanamattena
brahmanam na pannapemiti. Atha va lapitalapanamattenati mantanam
ajjhenaajjhapanamattena. Ubhayathapi yam pana brahmana samavedadivedattayajjhenena
tevijjam brahmanam vadanti, tam patikkhipati. Bhagavata hi "paramatthato atevijjam
brahmanamyeva cete bhovadino avijjanivuta `tevijjo brahmano'ti vadanti,
evam pana tevijjo brahmano hoti"ti dassanattham tatha bujjhanakanam puggalanam
ajjhasayena ayam desana araddha.
      Tattha yasma vijjasampanno caranasampannoyeva hoti caranasampadaya
vina vijjasampattiya abhavato, tasma caranasampadam antogadham katva
vijjasiseneva brahmanam pannapetukamo "dhammenaham bhikkhave tevijjam brahmanam
Pannapemi"ti desanam samutthapetva "kathancaham bhikkhave dhammena tevijjam
brahmanam pannapemi"ti kathetukamyataya puccham katva puggaladhitthanaya desanaya
vijjattayam vibhajanto "idha bhikkhave bhikkhu"tiadimaha.
      Tattha anekavihitanti anekavidham, anekehi va pakarehi pavattitam,
samvannitanti attho. Pubbenivasanti samanantaratitam bhavam adim katva tattha
tattha nivutthakkhandhasantanam. Nivutthanti ajjhavuttham anubhutam, attano santane
uppajjitva niruddham, nivutthadhammam va nivuttham, gocaranivasena nivuttham, attano
vinnanena vinnatam, paravinnanavinnatampi va chinnavatumakanussaranadisu.
Anussaratiti "ekampi jatim dvepi jatiyo"ti evam jatipatipativasena anugantva
sarati, anudeva va sarati, citte abhininnamite parikammasamanantaram sarati.
      Seyyathidanti araddhappakaradassanatthe nipato. Teneva yvayam
pubbenivaso araddho hoti, tassa pakaram dassento "ekampi jatin"tiadimaha.
Tattha ekampi jatinti ekampi patisandhimulakam cutipariyosanam ekabhavapariyapannam
khandhasantanam. Esa nayo dvepi jatiyotiadisu. Anekepi samvattakappetiadisu
pana parihayamano kappo samvattakappo, vaddhamano vivattakapPo. Tattha samvattena
samvattatthayi gahito hoti tammulakatta, vivattena ca vivattatthayi. Evam hi sati
yani tani "cattarimani bhikkhave kappassa asankhyeyyani, katamani cattari.
Samvatto samvattatthayi vivatto vivattatthayi"ti 1- vuttani cattari
asankhyeyyani, tani pariggahitani honti.
      Tattha tayo samvatta tejosamvatto aposamvatto vayosamvattoti. Tisso
samvattasima abhassara subhakinha vehapphalati. Yada kappo tejena samvattati,

Abhassarato hettha aggina dayhati. Yada udakena samvattati, subhakinhato
hettha udakena viliyati. Yada vatena samvattati, vehapphalato hettha vatena
viddhamsiyati. Vittharato pana kotisatasahassacakkavalam ekato vinassati. Iti
evarupo ayam pubbenivasam anussaranto bhikkhu anekepi samvattakappe anekepi
vivattakappe anekepi samvattavivattakappe anussarati. Katham? amutrasintiadina
nayena.
      Tattha amutrasinti amumhi samvattakappe amumhi bhave va yoniya va
gatiya va vinnanatthitiya va sattavase va sattanikaye va ahamahosim.
Evannamoti tisso va phusso va. Evamgottoti gotamo va kassapo va.
Evamvannoti odato 1- va samo va. Evamaharoti salimamsodanaharo
va pavattaphalabhojano va. Evamsukhadukkhappatisamvediti anekappakaranam kayikacetasikanam
samisaniramisadippabhedanam va sukhadukkhanam patisamvedi. Evamayupariyantoti
evam vassasataparimanayupariyanto va caturasitikappasatasahassaparimanayupariyanto
va. So tato cuto amutra udapadinti soham tato bhavato yonito gatito
vinnanatthitito sattavasato sattanikayato va cuto puna amukasmim nama bhave
yoniya gatiya vinnanatthitiya sattavase sattanikaye va udapadim.
Tatrapasinti atha tatrapi bhave yoniya gatiya vinnanatthitiya sattavase
sattanikaye va puna ahosim. Evannamotiadi vuttanayameva.
      Atha va yasma "amutrasin"ti idam anupubbena arohantassa attano
abhiniharanurupam yathabalam saranam, "so tato cuto"ti patinivattantassa paccavekkhanam,
tasma "idhupapanno"ti imissa idhupapattiya anantaram "amutra udapadin"ti

Vuttam. Tatrapasinti tatrapi bhave .pe. Sattanikaye va asim. Evannamoti
datto va. Mitto va, evamgottoti vasettho va kassapo va. Evamvannoti
kalo va odato va. Evamaharoti suddhaharo va saliodanadiaharo
va. Evamsukhadukkhapatisamvediti dibbasukhappatisamvedi va manusasukhadukkhappatisamvedi
va. Evamayupariyantoti evam tamtamparamayupariyanto. So tato cutoti so aham tato
bhavadito cuto. Idhupapannoti idha imasmim carimabhave manusso hutva upapanno
nibbatto.
      Ititi evam. Sakaram sauddesanti namagottadivasena sauddesam,
vannadivasena sakaram. Namagottena hi satta "tisso gotamo"ti uddisiyanti,
vannadihi "samo odato"ti nanattato pannayanti. Tasma namagottam
uddeso, itare akaRa. Ayamassa pathama vijja adhigatati ayam imina bhikkhuna
pathamam adhigamavasena pathama, viditakaranatthena vijja adhigata sacchikata hoti. Kim
panayam viditam karoti? pubbenivasam. Avijjati tasseva pubbenivasassa
aviditakaranatthena tassa paticchadakamoho vuccati. Tamoti sveva moho paticchadakatthena
tamoti vuccati. Alokoti sa eva vijja obhasakaranatthena aloko.
Ettha ca vijja adhigatati ayamattho, sesam pasamsavacanam. Yojana panettha:- ayam
kho tena bhikkhuna vijja adhigata, tassa adhigatavijjassa avijja vihata,
vinatthati attho. Kasma? yasma vijja uppannati. 1- Sesapadadvayepi eseva
nayo.
      Yatha tanti ettha yathati opammatthe, tanti nipatamattam. Satiya avippavasena
appamattassa. Viriyatapena atapino. Kaye ca jivite ca anapekkhataya

Pahitattassa, pesitacittassati attho. Idam vuttam hoti:- yatha appamattassa
atapino pahitattassa viharato avijja vihanneyya, vijja uppajjeyya, tamo
vihanneyya, aloko uppajjeyya, evameva tassa bhikkhuno avijja vihata,
vijja uppanna. Tamo vihato, aloko uppanno, tassa padhananuyogassa
anurupameva phalam labhitva viharatiti.
      Dibbena cakkhunati ettha yam vattabbam, tam hettha vuttameva. Visuddhenati
cutupapatadassanena ditthivisuddhihetubhavato visuddham. Yo hi cutimattameva passati
na upapatam, so ucchedaditthim ganhati. Yo upapatamattameva passati na cutim,
so navasattapatubhavaditthim ganhati. Yo pana tadubhayam passati, so yasma
duvidhampi ditthigatam ativattati, tasmassa tam dassanam ditthivisuddhihetu hoti,
tadubhayam cayam 1- buddhaputto passati. Tena vuttam "cutupapatadassanena
ditthivisuddhihetubhavato visuddhan"ti ekadasaupakkilesavirahato va visuddham. Yathaha
"vicikiccha cittassa upakkilesoti iti viditva vicikiccham cittassa
upakkilesam pajahim, ayonisomanasikaro 2- .pe. Thinamiddham, chambhitattam,
ubbilam, 3- dutthullam, accaraddhaviriyam, atilinaviriyam, abhijappa, nanattasanna,
atinijjhayitattam rupanam cittassa upakkileso"ti 4- evam vuttehi ekadasahi
upakkilesehi anupakkilitthatta visuddham. Manussupacaram atikkamitva rupadassanena
atikkantamanusakam, mamsacakkhum atikkantatta atikkantamanusakam. Tena dibbena cakkhuna
visuddhena atikkantamanusakena. Satte passatiti manussamamsacakkhuna viya satte passati
dakkhati oloketi.
      Cavamane upapajjamaneti ettha cutikkhane upapattikkhane va
dibbacakkhunapi datthum na sakka. Ye pana asannacutika idani cavissanti, te

Cavamana. Ye ca gahitapatisandhika sampati nibbatta va, te upapajjamanati
adhippeta. Te evarupe cavamane upapajjamane ca passatiti dasseti. Hineti
mohanissandayuttatta hinanam jatikulabhogadinam vasena hilite paribhute. Paniteti
amohanissandayuttatta tabbiparite. Suvanneti adosanissandayuttatta
itthakantamanapavannayutte. Dubbanneti dosanissandayuttatta
anitthaakantaamanapavannayutte. Abhirupe virupetipi attho. Sugateti sugatigate,
alobhanissandayuttatta va addhe mahaddhane. Duggateti duggatigate,
lobhanissandayuttatta va dalidde appannapanabhojane. Yathakammupageti yam yam
kammam upacitam, tena tena upagate. Tattha purimehi "cavamane"tiadihi dibbacakkhukiccam
vuttam, imina pana padena yathakammupagannanakiccam.
      Tassa ca nanassa ayam uppattikkamo:- idha bhikkhu hettha nirayabhimukham
alokam vaddhetva nerayike satte passati sahantam dukkham anubhavamane, idam
dassanam dibbacakkhunanakiccameva. So ca evam manasikaroti "kinnu kho kammam
katva ime satta etam dukkham anubhavanti"ti, athassa "idam nama katva"ti
tamkammarammanam nanam uppajjati. Tatha upari devalokabhimukham alokam vaddhetva
nandanavanamissakavanaparusakavanadisu satte passati dibbasampattim anubhavamane,
idampi dassanam dibbacakkhunanakiccameva. So evam manasikaroti "kinnu kho kammam
katva ime satta etam sampattim anubhavanti"ti, athassa "idam nama katva"ti
tamkammarammanam nanam uppajjati. Idam yathakammupagannanam nama. Imassa visum
parikammam nama natthi. Yatha cimassa, evam anagatamsananassapi. Dibbacakkhupadakaneva
hi imani dibbacakkhuna saheva ijjhanti. Kayaduccaritenatiadisu
yam vattabbam, tam hettha vuttanayameva. Idha vijjati dibbacakkhunanavijja.
Avijjati sattanam cutipatisandhicchadika avijja. Sesam vuttanayameva.
      Tatiyavare vijjati arahattamaggananavijja. Avijjati catusaccappaticchadika
avijja. Sesam hettha vuttanayatta suvinneyyameva. Evam khotiadi nigamanam.
      Gathasu ayam sankhepattho:- yo yathavuttam pubbenivasam aveti avagacchati,
vuttanayena pakatam katva janati. "yovedi"tipi patho, yo avedi viditam katva
thitoti attho. Chabbisatidevalokasankhatam saggam catubbidham apayanca vuttanayeneva
dibbacakkhuna passati. Athoti tato param jatikkhayasankhatam arahattam nibbanameva
va patto adhigato, tato eva abhinna abhivisitthaya maggapannaya janitabbam
catusaccadhammam janitva kiccavosanena vosito nitthanappatto
moneyyadhammasamannagamena muni khinasavo yasma etahi yathavuttahi tihi vijjahi
samannagatatta tato tatiyavijjaya sabbatha bahitapapatta ca tevijjo
brahmano nama hoti, tasma tameva aham tevijjam brahmanam vadami, annam
pana lapitalapanam yajuadimantapadanam ajjhapanaparam tevijjam brahmanam na vadami,
tevijjoti tam na kathemiti.
      Iti imasmim vagge dutiyasutte vattam kathitam, pancamaatthamadasamasuttesu
vivattam kathitam, itaresu vattavivattam kathitanti veditabbam.
                        Dasamasuttavanna nitthita.
                       Pancamavaggavannana nitthita.
                    Paramatthadipaniya khuddakanikayatthakathaya
                            itivuttakassa
                       tikanipatavannana nitthita.
