Atthakatha Book 40 : PALI ROMAN Ja.A.6 ekadasaka-pakinnaka

                      4 Udayajatakam.
     Eka nisinnati idam sattha jetavane viharanto ukkanthitabhikkhum
arabbha kathesi. Vatthum kusajatake avibhavissati.
     Sattha pana tam bhikkhum saccam kira tvam ukkanthitositi pucchitva saccam
bhanteti vutte bhikkhu kasma kilesavasena evarupe niyyanikasasane
pabbajitva ukkanthitosi poranakapanditapi samiddhe dvadasayojanike
surundhananagare rajjam karenta devaccharapatibhagaya itthiya
saddhim satta vassasatani ekagabbhe vasantapi indriyani
bhinditva lobhavasena na olokesunti vatva atitam ahari
     atite kasikaratthe surundhananagare kasikaraja rajjam karesi.
Tassa neva putto na dhita ahosi. So attano deviyo
putte patthethati aha. Devipi ranno vacanam sampaticchitva
tatha akasi. Tada bodhisatto brahmaloka cavitva ranno
aggamahesiya kucchimhi patisandhim ganhitva nibbatti. Atha
mahajanassa hadayam vaddhetva jatabhavena tassa udayabhaddoti namam
karimsu. Kumarassa padacaranakale anno satto brahmalokato
cavitva tasseva ranno annataraya deviya kucchimhi kumarika
hutva nibbatti. Tassapi udayabhaddati namam karimsu. Kumaro
vayappatto sabbasippanam nipphattim papuni jatibrahmacari pana
ahosi supinantenapi methunadhammam na janati. Nassa kilesesu
cittam alliyi. Raja puttam abhisincitukamo kumara idanissa
rajjasukhasevanakalo tamevassa dassamiti sasanam pesesi. Bodhisatto
na mayham rajjenattho kilesesu me cittam na alliyiti patikkhipitva
punappunam vuccamano rattajambunudamayam itthirupam karetva sace
evarupam itthim labhamano rajjam sampaticchissamiti matapitunam
pesesi. Te tam suvannarupakam sakalajambudipam pariharapetva tatharupam
itthim alabhanta udayabhaddam alankaritva tassa santike vasapesum.
Sa tam suvannarupakam abhibhavitva atthasi. Atha nesam anicchamanananneva
vematikabhaginim udayabhaddakumarim aggamahesim katva bodhisattam
abhisincimsu. Te pana dvepi brahmacariyavasameva vasimsu.
Aparabhage matapitunam accayena bodhisatto rajjam karesi.
Ubhopi ekagabbhe vasamana ca lobhavasena indriyani bhinditva
annamannam na olokesum apica kho pana yo amhesu pathamataram
kalam karoti so nibbattatthanato agantva asukatthane
nibbattosmiti arocetuti sankaramakamsu. Atha bodhisatto abhisekato
sattavassasataccayena kalamakasi. Anno raja nahosi.
Udayabhaddayeva ana pavattati. Amacca rajjam anusasimsu. So
bodhisattopi cutikkhane tavatimsabhavane sakkattam patva yasamahantataya
sattaham anussaritum nasakkhi. Iti so manussagananaya sattavassasataccayena
avajjitva udayabhaddam rajadhitaram dhanena vimamsitva sihanadam
nadapetva dhammam desetva sankaram mocetva agamissamiti
cintesi. Tada kira manussanam dasavassasahassayukakalo hoti.
Rajadhitapi tam divasam rattibhage pidahitesu dvaresu thapite
arakkhe sattabhumikapasadavaratale alankatasirigabbhe ekikava
niccala attano silam avajjamana nisidi. Atha sakko
suvannamasakapuram ekam suvannapatim adaya gantva sayanagabbheyeva
patubhavitva ekamantam nisidi. Bodhisatto taya saddhim sallapanto
pathamam gathamaha
              eka nisinna suci sannaturu
              pasadamaruyha aninditangi
              yacami tam kinnaranettacakkhu
              imekarattim ubhayo vasemati.
    Tattha suciti sucivatthanivattha. Sannaturuti sutthu thapitauru
iriyapatham santhapetva sucivattha ekikava nisinnasiti vuttam
hoti. Aninditangiti padantato yava kesagga aninditasarira
paramasobhaggappattasarira. Kinnaranettacakkhuti tihi mandalehi pancahi ca
pasadehi upasobhitatta kinnaranam nettasadisehi cakkhuhi samannagate.
Imekarattinti idam ekarattim ajja imasmim alankatasayanagabbhe ekato
vaseyyamati yacati.
    Tato rajadhita dve gatha abhasi
         okinnantaraparikkham        dalhamandalakotthakam
         rakkhitam khaggahatthehi       duppavesamidam puram.
         Daharassa yuvino capi      agamo ca na vijjati
         atha kena nu vannena      sangamam icchase mayati.
     Tattha okinnantaraparikkhanti idam dvadasayojanikam surundhanapuram
antarantara udakaparikkhanam kaddamaparikkhanam sukkhaparikkhananca
okinnatta okinnantaraparikkham. Dalhamandalakotthakanti thirehi
addalakehi dvarakotthakehi ca samannagatam. Khaggahatthehiti
avudhahatthehi dasahi yodhasahassehi rakkhitam. Duppavesamidam puranti
idam sakalapurampi tassa anto mapitam mayham nivasanapurampi ubhayam
kassaci pavisitum na sakka. Agamo cati idha imaya velaya
tarunassa va yobbanappattassa va thamasampannayodhassa va annassa
va mahantampi pannakaram gahetva agacchantassa agamonama
Natthi. Sangamanti atha tvam kena karanena imaya velaya maya
samagamam icchasiti.
     Atha sakko catuttham gathamaha
         yakkhohamasmi kalyani      agatosmi tavantike
         tvam mam nandassu bhaddante   punnakamsam dadami teti.
     Tassattho kalyani sundaradassane ahameko devaputto
devatanubhavena idhagato tvam ajja mam nandassu tosehi aham
te imam suvannamasakapunnam suvannapatim dadamiti.
     Tam sutva rajadhita pancamam gathamaha
              devam va yakkham athava manussam
              na patthaye udayam paticca annam
              gaccheva tvam yakkha mahanubhava
              ma cassu gantva punaravajitthati.
     Tassattho aham devaraja devam va yakkham va manussam va
udayam atikkamitva annam na patthemi so tvam gaccheva ma
idha atthasi na me taya abhatena pannakarena attho
gantvava ma imam thanam punaravajitthati.
     So tassa sihanadam sutva athatva gatasadiso hutva tattheva
antarahito atthasi. So punadivase tayameva velayam suvannamasakapuram
rajatapatim adaya taya saddhim sallapanto chattham gathamaha
              Ya sa rati uttama kamabhoginam
              ratisu satta visamam caranti
              ma tam ratim jiyi tuvam sucimhi te
              dadami te rupiyakamsapuranti.
     Tassattho bhadde rajadhite ya esa kamabhoginam sattanam
ratisu methunakamaratinama uttama uttamarati yassa ratiya karana
satta kayaduccaritadivisamam caranti tam ratim tvam bhadde sucimhi
te namasamapi ma jiyi. Ahampi agacchanto na tucchahattho
agato hiyo suvannamasakapuram suvannapatim aharim ajja
rupiyapatim suvannapuram imam te aham rupiyapatim suvannapuram
dadamiti.
     Rajadhita cintesi ayam kathasallapam labhanto punappunam
agamissati nadani tena saddhim kathessamiti. Sa kinci na
kathesi. Sakko tassa akathitabhavam natva tattheva antarahito
hutva punadivase taya velaya lohapatim kahapanapuram adaya bhaddam
tvam mam kamaratiya santappehi imam te kahapanapuram lohapatim
dassamiti aha. Tam divasam rajadhita sattamam gathamaha
              narim naro nijjhapayam dhanena
              ukkamsati yattha karoti channam
              vipaccaniko tava devadhammo
              paccakkhato thokatarena esiti.
     Tassattho bho purisa tvam jalo naro hi nama narim
kilesaratikarana dhanena nijjhapayam  nijjhapento sannapento yattha
nariya chandam karoti tam ukkamsati vannetva thometva bahutarena
dhanena palobheti tuyham paneso devasabhavo vipaccaniko tvam hi maya
paccakkhato thokatarena esi pathamadivase suvannapuram suvannapatim
aharitva dutiyadivase suvannapuram rajatapatim tatiyadivase kahapanapuram
lohapatim aharasiti.
     Tam sutva sakko bhadde rajakumari aham chekavanijo
niratthakena attham na nasemi sace tvam ayuna va vannena
va vaddheyyasi aham te pannakaram vaddhetva  ahareyyam
tvam pana parihapeseva tenahampi dhanam parihapemiti vatva tisso
gatha abhasi
              ayu ca vanno ca manussaloke
              nihiyyati manujanam sugatte
              teneva vannena dhanampi tuyham
              nihiyyati jinnatarasi ajja.
         Evam me pekkhamanassa    rajaputti yasassini
         hayateva tato vanno     ahorattanamaccaye.
         Iminava tvam vayasa       rajaputti sumedhase
         brahmacariyam careyyasi     bhiyyo vannavati siyati.
Tattha  nihiyyatiti manussanam pana parissavane asittaudakam viya
Parihayati. Manussalokasmimhi satta jivitena vannena cakkhupasadadihi
dine dine parihayanteva. Jinnatarasiti mama pathamam agatadivase pavattam
hi te ayu hiyodivasam na papuni kudhariya chinnam viya tattheva nirujjhi
hiyo pavattampi ajjadivasam na papuni hiyova kudhariya chinnam viya tattheva
nirujjhi tasma ajja jinnatarasi raja. Evam meti hiyova passato
ajjeva pana mayham evam pekkhamanasseva hayateva tato vanno.
Ahorattanamaccayeti ito patthaya rattindivesu vitivattesu ahorattanam
accaye apannattikabhavameva bhavissatiti dasseti. Iminavati tasma
bhadde sace tvam iminava vayena imasmim suvannavanne sarire
jaraya avilutteyeva setthacariyam careyyasi pabbajitva samanadhammam
kareyyasiti. Bhiyyo vannavati siyati atirekataravannim bhaveyyasiti.
     Tato rajadhita itaram gathamaha
              deva na jiranti yatha manussa
              gattesu tesam valiyo na honti
              pucchami tam yakkha mahanubhavam
              kathannu devana sariradehoti.
     Tattha sariradehoti sarirasankhato deho devanam sariram katham
na jirati idam aham tam pucchamiti vadati.
     Athassa kathento sakko itaram gathamaha
              Deva na jiranti yatha manussa
              gattesu tesam valiyo na honti
              suve suve bhiyyatarova tesam
              dibbo ca vanno vipula ca bhogati.
     Tattha yatha manussati yatha manussa jiranta rupena vannena
bhogena cakkhupasadadihi jiranti na evam   deva tesam hi gattesu
valliyopi na santi matthakancanamattavannameva sariram hoti. Suve suveti
divase divase. Bhiyyatarovati atirekatarova tesam dibbo ca vanno
vipula ca bhoga honti. Manussesu hi rupaparihani ciram jatabhavassa
sakkhi devesu atirekarupasampatti ca atirekaparivarasampatti ca.
Evam aparihanadhammonamesa devaloko tasma tvam jaram appatvava
nikkhamitva pabbaja evam parihaniyasabhava manussaloka cavitva
aparihaniyasabhavam evarupam devalokam gamissasiti.
     Sa devalokassa vannam sutva tassa gamanamaggam pucchanti
itaram gathamaha
              kimsudha bhita janata aneka
              maggo ca nekayatanappavutto
              pucchami tam yakkha mahanubhava
              kattha thito paralokam na bhayeti.
     Tattha kimsudha bhitati devaraja ayam khattiyadibheda janata aneka
kim bhita kassa bhayena parihaniyasabhava manussaloka devalokam na
Gacchatiti pucchati. Maggoti devalokagamimaggo. Idha pana kinti
aharitva koti puccha kattabba. Ayam hetthattho anekatitthayatana-
vasena panditehi pavutto devalokamaggova ko kataroti vutto hoti.
Kattha thitoti paralokam gacchanto katarasmim magge thito na bhayatiti.
     Athassa kathento sakko itaram gathamaha
              vacam mananca panidhaya samma
              kayena papani akubbamano
              bahunnapanam gharamavasanto
              saddho mudu samvibhagi vadannu
              sangahako sakhilo sanhavaco
              ettha thito paralokam na bhayeti.
     Tassattho bhadde yo vacam mananca samma thapetva kayenapi
papani akaronto ime dasa kusalakammapathe samadaya pavattanto
bahuannapane pahutadeyyadhamme ghare vasanto danassa vipako
atthiti saddhaya samannagato muducitto danasamvibhagataya samvibhagi
pabbajita bhikkhaya caramana vadanti tesam paccayadanajananato
imassa vadassa jananato vadannu catuhi sangahavatthuhi sangahako
piyabhanitaya sakhilo atthavacanataya sanhavaco ettha ettake
gunarasimhi thito paralokam gacchanto na bhayatiti.
     Tato rajadhita tassa vacanam sutva thutim karonti itaram gathamaha
         Anussasasi mam yakkha       yatha mata yatha pita
         ularavanna pucchami       konu tvamasi subrahati.
     Tassattho yatha matapitaro     puttake anusasenti tatha
mam anusasati. Ularavanna sobhaggappattarupadharaka konusi tvam
evam accuggatasariroti.
     Tato bodhisatto itaram gathamaha
         udayohamasmi kalyani      sankaratthayidhagato
         amanta kho tam gacchami    muttosmi tava sankarati.
     Tassattho kalyanadassane aham purimabhave tava samiko
udayonama tavatimsabhavane sakko hutva nibbatto idhagacchanto na
kilesavasenagato tam vimamsitva pana sankaram mocessamiti sankaratthaya
pubbe sankarassa katatta agatosmi idani tam amantetva
gacchami muttosmi tava sankarati.
     Rajadhita assasetva sami tvam udayabhaddarajati assudharaya
pavattamanaya aham tumhehi vina vasitum na sakkomi yatha tumhakam
santike vasami tatha mam anusasathati vatva itaram gathamaha
         sace kho tvam udayosi     sankaratthayidhagato
         anusasa mam rajaputta      yathassu puna sangamoti.
      Atha nam anusasanto mahasatto catasso gatha abhasi
              Adhipatati vayo khano tatheva
              thanam natthi dhuvam cavanti satta
              parijiyati adhuvam sariram
              udaye ma pamadam carassu dhammam.
              Kasina pathavi dhanassa pura
              ekasseva siya anannadheyya
              tam va vijahati avitarago
              udaye ma pamadam carassu dhammam.
              Mata pita ca bhataro
              samiko sadhanena hoti
              te vapi jahanti annamannam
              udaye ma pamadam carassu dhammam.
              Kayo parabhojananti natva
              samsare sugati ca duggati ca
              itaravasoti janitva
              udaye ma pamadam carassu dhammanti.
     Tattha adhipatatiti ativiya patati singham atikkamati. Vayoti
pathamavayaditividhopi. Khano tathevati uppadathitibhangakkhanopi tatheva
adhipatatiti ubhayenapi bhinno imesam sattanam ayusankharonama
singhasota nadi viya ativattanto singham atikkamatiti dasseti.
Thanam natthiti uppanna sankhara abhijjitva titthantiti patthanayapi
Tesam thanamnama natthi dhuvam ekamseneva buddham bhagavantam adim
katva sabbepi satta cavanti dhuvam maranam adhuvam jivitanti evam
maranassatim bhavehiti dipeti. Parijiyatiti idam suvannavannam sariram
jirateva evam janahiti. Ma pamadanti tasma tvam udayabhadde
ma pamadam apajja appamatta hutva dasakusalakammapatham dhammam
carahiti. Kasinati sakala. Ekassevati yadi ekasseva
ranno tasmim ekasmimyeva atitanagatapi hoti. Tam va vijahati
avitaragoti tanhavasiko puggalo ettakenapi yasena atitto
maranakale avitaragova tam vijahati evam tanhaya apuraniyabhavam
janahiti dipeti. Tevapiti mata puttam putto mataram
pita puttam putto pitaram bhariya samikam samiko bhariyanti ete
annamannam pajahanti nana honti evam sattanam vinabhavam
janahiti dipeti. Parabhojananti vividhanam kakadinam parasattanam
bhojanam. Itaravasoti ya esa imasmim samsare manussabhuta
sugati ca tiracchanabhuta duggati ca etam ubhayampi itaravasoti
janitva ma pamadam carassu dhammam imesam sattanam nanathanato
agantva ekatthane samagamo paritto ime satta appakameva
kalam  ekato vasanti tasma appamatta hohiti evam mahasatto
tassa ovadam adasi.
     Sapi tassa dhammakathaya pasiditva thutim karonti osanagathamaha
         Sadhu bhasati yam yakkho     appam maccana jivitam
         kasiranca parittanca        tanca dukkhena samyutam
         saham eka pabbajissami   hitva kasam surundhananti.
     Tattha sadhuti sundaram. Appam maccanajivitanti bhasamano
ayam devaraja sadhu bhasati kimkarana idanca kasiranca dukkham
assadarahitam parittanca na bahukam ittarakalam sace hi kasirampi
samanam dighakalam pavatteyya parittakampi ca samanam sukham bhaveyya
idam pana kasiranceva parittanca sakalena vattadukkhena samyuttam
sannihitam. Sahanti sa aham. Surundhananti surundhananagaranca
kasikaratthanca chaddetva ekika pabbajissamiti aha.
     Bodhisatto tassa ovadam datva sakatthanameva gato. Sapi
punadivase amacce rajjam paticchapetva antonagareyeva rammaniye
uyyane isipabbajjam pabbajitva dhammam caritva ayupariyosane
tavatimsabhavane bodhisattassa padaparicarika hutva nibbatti.
     Sattha imam dhammadesanam aharitva saccani pakasetva jatakam
samodhanesi (saccapariyosane ukkanthitabhikkhu sotapattiphale
patitthahi) tada rajadhita rahulamata ahosi. Sakko pana
ahamevati.
