                    Kosambikkhandhakavannana

     {451} kosambikkhandhake. Tam bhikkhum apattiya adassane ukkhipimsuti
ettha ayam anupubbikatha dve kira bhikkhu ekasmim avase
vasanti vinayadharo ca suttantiko ca. Tesu suttantiko bhikkhu
ekadivasam vaccakutim pavittho acamanaudakavasesam bhajane thapetva
nikkhami. Vinayadharo paccha pavittho tam udakam disva nikkhamitva
tam bhikkhum pucchi avuso taya idam udakam thapitanti. Ama
avusoti. Tvam ettha apattibhavam na janasiti. Ama
na janamiti. Hoti avuso ettha apattiti. Sace hoti
desissamiti. Sace pana te avuso asancicca asatiya katam
natthi apattiti. So tassa apattiya anapattiditthi ahosi.
     Vinayadharopi attano nissitakanam ayam suttantiko apattim
apajjamanopi na janatiti arocesi. Te tassa nissitake disva
tumhakam upajjhayo apattim apajjitvapi apattibhavam na janatiti
ahamsu. Te agantva upajjhayassa arocesum. So evamaha
ayam vinayadharo pubbe anapattiti vatva idani apattiti vadati
musavadi esoti. Te gantva tumhakam upajjhayo musavaditi
evam annamannam kalaham vaddhayimsu. Tato vinayadharo okasam
Labhitva tassa apattiya adassane ukkhepaniyakammam akasi.
Tena vuttam tam bhikkhum apattiya adassane ukkhipimsuti. {453} Bhinno
bhikkhusangho bhinno bhikkhusanghoti ettha na tava bhinno apica
kho yatha deve vutthe idani sassam nipphannanti vuccati avassam
hi tam nipphajjissati evameva imina karanena ayatim avassam
bhijjissati. So ca kho kalahavasena na sanghabhedavasena tasma
bhinnoti vuttam. Sambhavaatthavasena 1- cettha amenditam veditabbam.
     {454} Etamattham bhasitva utthayasana pakkamiti kasma evam bhasitva
pakkami. Sace hi bhagava ukkhepake va akaranena tumhehi
so bhikkhu ukkhittoti vadeyya ukkhittanuvattake va tumhe
apattim apannati vadeyya etesam bhagava pakkho etesam
bhagava pakkhoti vatva aghatam bandheyyum tasma tantimeva
thapetva etamattham bhasitva utthayasana pakkami. {455} Attanava
attananti ettha yo sanghena ukkhepaniyakammanam adhammavadinam
pakkhe nisinno tumhe kim bhanathati tesanca itaresanca laddhim
sutva ime adhammavadino itare dhammavadinoti cittam
uppadeti ayam tesam majjhe nisinnova tesam nanasamvasako hoti
kammam kopeti itaresampi hatthapasam anagatatta kopeti.
Evam attanava attanam nanasamvasakam karoti. Samanasamvasakanti
etthapi yo adhammavadinam pakkhe nisinno adhammavadino ime
itare dhammavadinoti tesam majjhe pavisati yattha va tattha va

Pakkhe nisinno ime dhammavadinoti ganhati ayam attanava
attanam samanasamvasakam karotiti veditabbo. {456} Kayakammam
vacikammanti ettha kayena paharanta kayakammam upadamsenti pharusam
vadanta vacikammam upadamsentiti veditabba. Hatthaparamasam karontiti
kodhavasena hatthehi annamannam paramasanam karonti. Adhammiyamaneti
adhammiyani kiccani kurumane. Asammodikaya vattamanayati
sammodikaya avattamanaya. Ayameva va patho. Sammodana-
kathaya avattamanayati attho. Ettavata na annamannanti
ettha dve pantiyo katva upacaram muncitva nisiditabbam.
Dhammiyamane pana pakkhe sammodikaya vattamanaya asanantarikaya
nisiditabbam ekekam asanam antaram katva nisiditabbam. {457-458} Ma
bhandanantiadisu akatthati pathasesam gahetva ma bhandanam
akatthati evam attho datthabbo. Adhammavaditi ukkhittanuvattakesu
annataro. Ayam pana bhikkhu bhagavato atthakamo. Ayam
kirassa adhippayo ime bhikkhu kodhabhibhuta satthuvacanam na
ganhanti ma bhagava ete ovadanto kilamitthati tasma
evamaha. Bhagava pana pacchapi sannam labhitva oramissantiti
tesam anukampaya atitavatthum aharitva kathesi. Tattha anatthatoti
anattho ato. Etasma me purisa anatthoti vuttam hoti.
Athava anatthatoti anatthado. Sesam pakatameva. {464} Puthusaddoti-
adigathasu pana puthu maha saddo assati puthusaddo.
Samajanoti ekasadiso jano. Sabbo cayam bhandanakarakajano
samantato saddaniccharanena puthusaddo ceva sadiso cati vuttam
hoti. Na balo koci mannathati tattha koci ekopi aham
baloti mannittha sabbepi panditamaninoyeva. Nannam bhiyyo
amannarunti koci ekopi aham baloti ca na mannittha bhiyyo ca
sanghasmim bhijjamane annampi ekam mayham karana sangho bhijjatiti
idam karanam na mannitthati attho. Parimutthati mutthassatino.
Vacagocarabhaninoti rakarassa rassadeso kato vacagocara
na satipatthanadigocara bhaninoti. Katham bhanino. Yavicchanti
mukhayamanti yava mukham pasaretum icchanti tava pasaretva
bhanino ekopi sanghagaravena mukhasankocanam na karotiti attho.
Yena nitati yena kalahena imam nilajjabhavam nita. Na tam viduti
tam na jananti evam sadinavo ayanti. Ye ca tam upanayhantiti
tam akkocchi ayam mantiadikam akaram ye upanayhanti.
Sanantanoti porano. Pareti pandite thapetva tato anne
bhandanakaraka pare nama. Te ettha sanghamajjhe kalaham
karonta mayam yamamhase uparamama nassama satatam samitam
maccusantikam gacchamati na janantiyeva. Ye ca tattha vijanantiti
ye ca tattha pandita mayam maccusamipam gacchamati vijananti.
Tato sammanti medhagati evam hi te jananta yonisomanasikaram
uppadetva medhaganam kalahanam vupasamaya patipajjanti. Atthicchiddati
Ayam gatha brahmadattanca dighavukumaranca sandhaya vutta.
Tesampi hoti sangati kasma tumhakam na hoti. Yesam vo neva
matapitunam atthini chinnani panani hatani na gavassa
dhanani hatani. Sace labhethatiadigatha panditasahayassa ca
balasahayassa ca vannavannadipanattham vutta. Abhibhuyya sabbani
parissayaniti pakataparissaye ca paticchannaparissaye ca abhibhavitva
tena saddhim attamanova satima careyya. Rajava rattham vijitanti
yatha attano vijitam rattham mahajanakaraja ca arindamamaharaja ca
pahaya ekaka carimsu evam careyyati attho. Matangaranneva
nagoti matango aranneva nago. Matangoti hatthi vuccati.
Nagoti mahantadhivacanametam. Yatha hi matuposako matango
nago aranne ekakova cari na ca papani akasi yatha ca
parileyyako evam eko care na ca papani kayirati vuttam
hoti. {467} Parileyyake viharati rakkhitavanasandeti parileyyakam
upanissaya rakkhitavanasande viharati. Hatthinagoti mahahatthi.
Hatthikalabhehiti hatthipotakehi. Hatthicchapehiti khirapakehi daharapotakehi.
Chinnagganiti tehi purato purato gacchantehi chinnaggani
khayitavasesani khanusadisani tinani khadati. Obhaggobhagganti tena
hatthinagena uccatthanato bhanjitva patitam. Assa sakhabhanganti
etassa santakam sakhabhangam te khadanti. Avilaniti tehi
pathamataram otaritva pivantehi alulitani kaddamodakani pivati.
Ogahati titthato. Nagassa nagenati hatthinagassa buddhanagena.
Isadantassati rathaisasadisadantassa. Yadeko ramati vaneti
yasma buddhanago viya ayampi hatthinago eko pavivitto vane
ramati tasmassa nagassa nagena cittam sameti ekibhavaratiya
ekasadisam hotiti attho. Yathabhirantam viharitvati ettha temasam
bhagava tattha vihasiti veditabbo. Ettavata kosambikehi kira
ubbalho bhagava temasam arannam pavisitva vasatiti sabbattha
katha patthata ahosi. Athakho kosambika upasakati athakho
imam kathasallapam sutva kosambivasino upasaka. {468} Adhammam dhammoti-
adini attharasa bhedakaravatthuni sanghabhedakkhandhake vannayissama.
     Adayanti laddhiparam. Vivittanti sunnam. {475} Tam ukkhittakam bhikkhum
osaretvati tam gahetva nissimam gantva apattim desapetva
kammavacaya osaretva. Tavadeva uposathoti tam divasameva
uposathakkhandhake vuttanayena samaggiuposatho katabbo. {476} Amula
mulam gantvati na mula mulam gantva. Tam vatthum avinicchaniti
attho. Ayam vuccati upali sanghasamaggi atthapeta byanjanupetati
atthato apagata sanghasamaggiti imam pana byanjanamattam
upeta. {477} Sanghassa kiccesuti sanghassa karaniyesu uppannesu.
Mantanasuti vinayamantanasu. Atthesu jatesuti vinayaatthesu
uppannesu. Vinicchayesuti tesamyeva atthanam vinicchayesu. Mahatthikoti
mahaupakaro. Paggaharahoti paggahitum yutto. Ananuvajjo
Pathamena silatotiadimhiyeva tava silato na upavajjo.
Avekkhitacaroti apekkhitacaro alokite vilokite sampajanakariti-
adina nayena upaparikkhitacaro. Atthakathasu pana appatic-
channacaroti vuttam. Visayhati abhibhavitva. Anuyyuttam bhananti
anuyyuttam anupagatam bhananto. Yasma hi so anuyyuttam bhanati
usuyyaya va agatigamanavasena va karana apagatam na bhanati
tasma attham na hapeti. Usuyyaya pana agatigamanavasena va
bhananto attham hapeti karanam na vadati parisagato chambhati
ceva vedhati ca yo idiso na hoti ayam paggaharahoti
dasseti. Kinci bhiyyo tatheva panhanti gatha tassattho yatheva
anuyyuttam bhananto attham na hapeti tatheva parisaya majjhe
panham pucchito samano na ceva pajjhayati na manku hoti.
Yo hi attham na janati so pajjhayati yo vattum na sakkoti
so manku hoti. Yo pana atthanca janati vattunca sakkoti
so na pajjhayati na manku hoti. Kalagatanti kathetabbayutta-
kale agatam. Byakaranarahanti panhassa atthanulomataya
byakarananucchavikam. Vacoti vadanto evarupam vacanam bhanantoti
attho. Ranjetiti toseti. Vinnuparisanti vinnunam parisam.
     Acerakamhi ca saketi attano acariyavade. Alam pametunti vimamsitum
tam tam karanam pannaya tulayitum samattho. Pagunoti kataparicayo
laddhasevano. Kathetaveti kathetabbe. Viraddhikovidoti
Viruddhatthanakusalo. Paccatthika yena vajantiti ayam gatha yadise
kathetabbe paguno tam dassetum vutta. Ayam hettha attho
yadisena kathitena paccatthika ca niggaham gacchanti mahajano ca
sannapanam gacchati sannattiavabodhanam gacchatiti attho. Ayanca
kathento sakam adayam attano acariyavadam na hapeti. Yasmim
vatthusmim adhikaranam uppannam tadanurupam anupaghatakaram panham byakaramano
tadise kathetabbe paguno hoti. Duteyyakammesu alanti
atthahi dutangehi samannagatatta sanghassa duteyyakammesu samattho.
Sam sutthu ugganhatiti samuggaho. Idam vuttam hoti yatha
nama ahunam ahuti pindam samugganhanti evam pitisomanassa-
jateneva cetasa sanghassa kiccesu samuggaho sanghakiccesu tassa
kiccassa patiggahakoti attho. Karam vacoti vacanam karonto.
Na tena mannatiti tena vacanakaranena aham karomi sanghabharam
nittharamiti na manatimanam jappeti. Apajjati yavatakesuti
yattakesu vatthusu apattim apajjamano apajjati. Hoti
yatha ca vutthititi tassa ca apattiya yatha vutthanam hoti.
Ete vibhangati yesu ca vatthusu apajjati yatha ca vutthanam
hoti imesam atthanam jotaka ete vibhanga ubhayo assa
sagata sutthu agata. Apattivutthanapadassa kovidoti apatti-
vutthanakaranakusalo. Yani cacaranti yani ca bhandanakarakadini
acaranto tajjaniyakammadivasena nissaranam gacchati. Osaranam
Tam vusitassa jantunoti tam vattam vusitassa jantuno ya osarana
katabba etampi janati. Sesam sabbattha uttanamevati.
                Kosambikkhandhakavannana nitthita.
      Iti samantapasadikaya samvannanaya mahavaggavannana samatta.
         Yatha ca vannana esa    samatta nirupaddava
         evam sabbe jana santim    pappontu nirupaddavanti.
