                    Chakkanipatajatakatthakatha
                    avariyavaggavannana

                      avariyajatakam
     masu kujjha bhumipatiti idam sattha jetavane viharanto ekam
titthanavikam arabbha kathesi.
     So kira balo ahosi annano neva so buddhadinam
ratananam na annesanca puggalanam gunam janati cando pharuso
sahasiko. Atheko janapado bhikkhu buddhupatthanam karissamiti
agacchanto sayam aciravatitittham patva tam evamaha upasaka
paratiram gamissami navam me dehiti. Bhante idani akalo
ekasmim thane idha vasassuti. Upasaka idha kuhim vasissami mam
ganhitva gacchahiti. So kujjhitva ehi redha samana vahamiti
vatva theram navam aropetva ujukam agantva hettha navam netva
ullolam katva tassa pattacivaram temetva kilametva tiram patva
andhakaravelayam uyyojesi. Atha so viharam gantva tam divasam
buddhupatthanassa okasam alabhitva punadivase sattharam upasankamitva
vanditva ekamantam nisiditva satthara katapatisantharo kada
agatositi vutte hiyyo bhanteti atha kasma ajja buddhupatthanam
Agatositi vutte tamattham arocesi. Tam sutva sattha na
kho bhikkhu idaneva pubbepesa cando pharusova idani pana
tena tvam kilamito pubbepi pandite kilamesiti vatva tena
yacito atitam ahari.
     Atite baranasiyam brahmadatte rajjam karente bodhisatto
brahmanakule nibbattitva vayappatto takkasilayam sabbasippani
ugganhitva isipabbajjam pabbajitva dighamaddhanam himavante phalaphalena
yapetva lonambilasevanatthaya baranasiyam gantva rajuyyane
vasitva punadivase nagaram bhikkhaya pavisi. Atha nam rajangane
pattam raja disva tassa iriyapathe pasiditva antepuram anetva
bhojetva patinnam gahetva rajuyyane vasapesi ekadivase sakim
upatthanam agamasi. Tamenam bodhisatto ranna nama mahamaraja
cattari agatigamanani vajjetva appamattena khantimettanudayasampannena
hutva dhammena rajjam karetabbanti vatva devasikam ovadanto
        masu kujjha bhumipati        masu kujjha rathesabha
        kuddham appatikujjhanto      raja ratthassa pujito.
        Game va yadi varanne   ninne va yadi va thale
        sabbatthamanusasami        masu kujjha rathesabhati
dve gatha vadati.
     Tattha ratthassa pujitoti evarupo raja ratthassa pujito
hotiti attho. Sabbatthamanusasamiti etesu gamadisu yatthakatthaci
Vasanto aham maharaja imayaeva anusitthiya tamanusasami etesu
gamadisu yatthakatthaci ekasmimpi ekasattepi anusasami. Masu
kujjha rathesabhati evamevaham tam anusasami ranna nama kujjhitum

vacanamatteneva bahu jivitakkhayam papunantiti.
     Evampi bodhisatto ranno agatagatadivase ima gatha abhasi.
Raja pasannacitto mahasattassa satasahassutthanakam ekam gamavaram
adasi. Bodhisatto patikkhipi. Iti so tattheva dvadasa samvacchare
vasitva aticiram nivutthosmi janapadacarikam tava caritva agamissamiti
ranno akathetvava uyyanapalam amantetva tata ukkanthitaruposmi
janapadam caritva agamissami tvam ranno katheyyasiti vatva
pakkanto gangaya navatittham papuni. Tattha avariyapita
nama naviko ahosi so balo neva gunavantanam gunam janati
na attanova upayam janati. So gangataritukamam janam pathamam
taritva paccha vetanam yacati vetanam adentehi saddhim kalaham
karonto akkosappahareyeva bahu labhati. Appalabham evarupam andhabalam
tam sandhaya sattha abhisambuddho hutva tatiyam gathamaha
        avariyapita nama         ahu gangaya naviko
        pubbe janam tarayitva       paccha yacati vetanam
        tenassa bhandanam hoti        na ca bhogehi vaddhatiti.
     Tattha avariyapitati avariya nama tassa dhita tassa
Vasena avariyapita nama jato. Tenassa bhandananti tena karanena
tena va paccha yaciyamanena saddhim tassa bhandanam hoti.
     Bodhisatto tam navikam upasankamitva avuso paratiram mam
nehiti aha. Tam sutva so aha samana kim me vetanam
dassasiti. Avuso aham bhogavuddhim atthavuddhim dhammavuddhim nama
kathessamiti. Tam sutva naviko dhuvam esa mayham kinci dassatiti
tam paratiram netva dehi me navaya vetananti aha. So
tassa sadhu avusoti pathamam bhogavuddhim kathento
        atinnanneva yacassu        aparam tata navika
        anno hi tinnassa mano      anno hoti tiresinoti
gathamaha.
     Tattha aparanti tata navika paratiram atinnameva janam orimatire
thitanneva vetanam yacassu tato laddhanca gahetva guttatthane
thapetva pacchapi manusse paratiram niyyasi evam te bhogavuddhi
bhavissatiti. Anno hi tinnassa manoti tata navika paratiram
gatassa hi anno mano bhavati adatvava gantukamo hoti
yo paratiresi nama tiram esati paratiram gantukamo hoti so
atirekatarampi datva gantukamo hoti iti tiresino ca anno
mano hoti tasma tvam atinnameva yaceyyasiti ayam tava
te bhoganam vuddhi namati.
     Tam sutva naviko cintesi ayam tava me ovado bhavissati
Idani panesa annam kinci mayham dassatiti. Atha nam bodhisatto
ayam tava te avuso bhogavuddhi idani atthadhammavuddhim sunahiti
vatva tam ovadanto
        game va yadi varanne     ninne va yadi va thale
        sabbatthamanusasami          masu kujjhitha navikati
gathamaha. Iti tassa imaya gathaya atthadhammavuddhim kathetva
ayam te atthavuddhi ca dhammavuddhi cati aha. So pana dutthapuriso
tam ovadam na kinci mannamano idam samana taya mayham dinnam
navaya vetananti aha. Amavusoti. Mayham imina kammam
natthi annam me dehiti. Avuso imam thapetva mayham annam
natthiti. Atha tvam kasma mama navam arubhositi tapasam gangatire
patetva ure nisiditva mukhamevassa pothesi.
     Sattha iti so bhikkhave tapaso ovadam datva ranno
santike gamavaram labhati tameva ovadam andhabalassa navikassa
kathetva mukhapothanam papuni tasma ovadam dentena yuttajanasseva
databbo na ayuttajanassati vatva abhisambuddho hutva tadanantaram
gathamaha
        yayeva anusasaniya     raja gamavaram ada
        tayeva anusasaniya     naviko pahari mukhanti.
     Tassa tam paharantasseva bhariya bhattam gahetva agata
tapasam disva sami ayam tapaso rajakulupako ma pahariti aha.
So kujjhitva tvameva imam kutatapasam paharitum na desiti utthaya
tam paharitva patesi. Atha bhattapati patitva bhijji. Bhariyaya
ca garugabbhaya gabbho bhumiyam pati. Atha nam manussa samparivaretva
purisaghatakacoroti gahetva bandhitva ranno dassesum. Raja
vinicchinitva tassa rajanam karesi.
     Sattha abhisambuddho hutva tamattham pakasento osanagathamaha
        bhattam bhinnam hata bhariya     gabbho ca patito chama
        migova jatarupena         na tenattham avaddhitunti.
     Tattha bhattam bhinnanti bhattapati bhinna. Hatati pahata.
Chamati bhumiyam. Migova jatarupenati yatha migo suvannam va
hirannam va muttamaniadini va madditva gacchantopi attharitva
nipajjantopi tena jatarupena attano attham vaddhitum nibbattetum
na sakkoti evameva so andhabalo panditehi dinnam ovadam
sutvapi attano attham vaddhitum nibbattetum na sakkotiti vuttam hoti.
     Sattha imam dhammadesanam aharitva saccani pakasetva jatakam
samodhanesi. Saccapariyosane so bhikkhu sotapattiphale patitthahi.
Tada naviko idani navikova raja anando tapaso pana
ahamevati.
