     [101] Iddhividhanananiddese idha bhikkhuti imasmim sasane bhikkhu.
Chandasamadhipadhanasankharasamannagatanti ettha chandahetuko samadhi, chandadhiko va
samadhi chandasamadhi, kattukammayatachandam adhipatim karitva patiladdhasamadhissetam adhivacanam.
Padhanabhuta sankhara padhanasankhara, catukiccasadhakassa sammappadhanaviriyassetam
adhivacanam. Catukiccasadhanavasena bahuvacanam katam. Samannagatanti chandasamadhina ca
padhanasankharehi ca upetam. Iddhipadanti nipphattipariyayena va vijjhanatthena,
ijjhanti etaya satta iddha vuddha ukkamsagata hontiti imina va pariyayena

Idadhiti sankham gatanam upacarajjhanadikusalacittasampayuttanam chandasamadhipadhana-
sankharanam adhitthanatthena padabhutam sesacittacetasikarasinti attho. Vuttam hi
iddhipadavibhange suttantabhajaniye "iddhipadoti tathabhutassa vedanakkhandho .pe.
Vinnanakkhandho"ti. 1- Abhidhammabhajaniye ca "iddhipadoti tathabhutassa phasso vedana
.pe. Paggaho avikkhepo"ti 2- vuttam. Tasma "sesacittacetasikarasin"ti ettha
chandasamadhipadhanasankharesu ekekam iddhim katva dvihi dvihi saha sesavacanam katanti
veditabbam. Evam hi cattaro khandha sabbe ca phassadayo dhamma sangahita
honti. Imina nayena sesesupi attho veditabbo. Yatheva hi chandam adhipatim karitva
patiladdhasamadhi chandasamadhiti vutto, evam viriyam cittam vimamsam adhipatim karitva
patiladdhasamadhi vimamsasamadhiti vuccati. Evamekekasmim iddhipade chandadayo viriyadayo
cittadayo vimamsadayoti tayo dhamma iddhipi honti iddhipadapi, sesava pana
sampayuttaka cattaro khandha iddhipadayeva. Yasma va ime tayo tayo dhamma
sampayuttakehi catuhi khandhehi saddhimyeva ijjhanti, na vina tehi, tasma tena
pariyayena sabbe cattaropi khandha ijjhanatthena iddhi nama honti, patitthatthena
pada namatipi veditabbam.
     Viriyasamadhipadhanasankharasamannagatanti ettha pana viriyanti ca padhanasankharoti
ca ekoyeva. Kasma dvidha vuttanti ce? viriyassa adhipatibhavadassanavasenettha
pathamam viriyaggahanam katam, tasseva catukiccasadhakattadassanattham padhanasankharavacanam katam.
Evam dvidha vutta eva cetthapi tayo tayo dhammati vuttam. Keci pana "vibhange
`iddhiti ya tesam dhammanam iddhi samiddhi ijjhana samijjhana'ti 1- vuttatta
iddhi nama anipphanna, iddhipado nipphanno"ti vadanti. Idha pana iddhipi
iddhipadopi nipphannoti lakkhanabbhahatoti sannitthanam katam. Iddhi
samiddhitiadihi ijjhanakarena dhamma eva vuttati veditabbam.

     Bhavetiti asevati. Suttantabhajaniye 1- viya idhapi iddhipadabhavana
lokiya eva. Tasma iddhividham tava sampadetukamo lokiyam iddhipadam bhavento
pathavikasinadisu atthasu kasinesu adhikatavasippattaatthasamapattiko kasinanulomato
kasinapatilomato kasinanulomapatilomato jhananulomato jhanapatilomato
jhananulomapatilomato jhanukkantikato kasinukkantikato jhanakasinukkantikato
angasankantikato arammanasankantikato angarammanasankantikato angavavatthanato
arammanavavatthanatoti imehi cuddasahi akarehi cittam paridametva chandasisaviriyasisa-
cittasisavimamsasisavasena punappunam jhanam samapajjati. Angarammanavavatthanampi keci
icchanti. Pubbahetusampannena pana kasinesu catukkajhanamatte cinnavasinapi katum
vattatiti tam tam iddhipadasamadhim bhavento "anuppannanam papakanam akusalanam dhammanam
anuppadaya"tiadikam 2- catuppakaram viriyam adhitthati, viriyassa ca hanivudadhiyo
natva viriyasamattam adhitthati. So evam catusu iddhipadesu cittam paribhavetva
iddhividham sampadeti.
     So imesu catusu iddhipadesutiadisu soti so bhavitacaturiddhipado bhikkhu.
Catusu iddhipadesu cittam paribhavetiti punappunam chandadisu ekekam adhipatim katva
jhanasamapajjavasena tesu cittam paribhaveti nama, chandadivasanam gahapetiti attho.
Paridametiti nibbisevanam karoti. Purimam pacchimassa karanavacanam. Paribhavitam hi cittam
paridamitam hotiti. Mudum karotiti tatha dantam cittam vasippattam karoti. Vase vattamanam
hi cittam "mudun"ti vuccati. Kammaniyanti kammakkhamam kammayoggam karoti. Mudum hi
cittam kammaniyam hoti, sudhantamiva suvannam, idha pana iddhividhakammakkhamam. Soti so
paribhavitacitto bhikkhu. Kayampi citte samodahatitiadi iddhikaranakale yathasukham
cittacarassa ijjhanattham yogavidhanam dassetum vuttam. Tattha kayampi citte

Samodahatiti attano karajakayampi padakajjhanacitte samodahati paveseti aropeti,
kayam cittanugatikam karotiti attho. Evam karanam adissamanena kayena gamanassa
upakaraya hoti. Cittampi kaye samodahatiti padakajjhanacittam attano karajakaye
samodahati aropeti, cittampi kayanugatikam karotiti attho. Evam karanam dissamanena
kayena gamanassa upakaraya hoti. Samadahatitipi patho, patitthapetiti attho.
Kayavasena cittam parinametiti padakajjhanacittam gahetva karajakaye aropeti
kayanugatikam karoti, idam cittam kaye samodahanassa vevacanam. Cittavasena kayam
parinametiti karajakayam gahetva padakajjhanacitte aropeti, cittanugatikam karoti,
idam kayam citte samodahanassa vevacanam. Adhitthatiti "evam hotu"ti adhitthati.
Samodahanassa atthavivaranattham parinamo vutto, parinamassa atthavivaranattham
adhitthanam vuttam. Yasma samodahatiti mulapadam, parinameti adhitthatiti tassa
atthaniddesapadani, tasma tesam dvinnamyeva padanam vasena parinametvati
adhitthahitvati vittam, na vuttam, samodahitvati.
     Sukhasannanca lahusannanca kaye okkamitva viharatiti catutthajjhanena
sahajatasukhasannanca lahusannanca samapajjanavasena karajakaye okkamitva pavesetva
viharati. Taya sannaya okkantakayassa panassa karajakayopi tulapicu viya lahuko
hoti. Soti so katayogavidhano bhikkhu. Tatha bhavitena cittenati itthambhutalakkhane
karanavacanam, hetuatthe va, tatha bhavitena cittena hetubhutenati attho. Parisuddhenati
upekkhasatiparisuddhibhavato parisuddhena. Parisuddhattayeva pariyodatena, pabhassarenata
attho. Iddhividhananayati iddhikotthase, iddhivikappe va nanatthaya. Cittam
abhiniharatiti so bhikkhu vuttappakaravasena tasmim citte abhinnapadake jate
iddhividhananadhigamatthaya parikammacittam abhiniharati, kasinarammanato apanetva iddhi-
vidhabhimukham peseti. Abhininnametiti adhigantabbaiddhiponam iddhipabbharam karoti.
Soti so evam katacittabhiniharo bhikkhu. Anekavihitanti anekavidham nanappakarakam.
Iddhividhanti iddhikotthasam, iddhivikappam va. Paccanubhotiti paccanubhavati,
phasseti sacchikaroti papunatiti attho.
     [102] Idanissa anekavihitabhavam dassento ekopi hutvatiadimaha. Tattha
ekopi hutvati iddhikaranato pubbe pakatiya ekopi hutva. Bahudha
hotiti bahunnam santike cankamitukamo va, sajjhayam va kattukamo, panham va
pucchitukamo hutva satampi sahassampi hoti. Katham panayamevam hoti? iddhiya
bhumipadapadamulabhute dhamme sampadetva abhinnapadakajjhanam samapajjitva vutthaya
sace satam icchati, "satam homi satam homi"ti parikammam katva pana padakajjhanam
samapajjitva vutthaya adhitthati. Adhitthanacittena saheva satam hoti. Sahassadisupi
eseva nayo. Sace evam na ijjhati, puna parikammam katva dutiyampi samapajjitva
vutthaya adhitthatabbam. Samyuttatthakathayam hi "ekavaram dvevaram samapajjitum
vattati"ti vuttam. Tattha padakajjhanacittam nimittarammanam, parikammacittani
satarammanani va sahassarammanani va. Tani ca kho vannavaseneva, 1- no
pannattivasena. Athitthanacittampi tatheva satarammanam va sahassarammanam va, tam
pathamappanacittamiva gotrabhuanantaram ekameva uppajjati rupavacaracatutthajjhanikam. Tattha
ye te bahu nimmita, te aniyametva nimmitatta iddhimata sadisava honti.
Thananisajjadisu bhasitatunhibhavadisu va yam yam iddhima karoti, tam tadeva karoti. Sace
pana nanavanne katukamo hoti, keci pathamavaye keci majjhimavaye keci pacchimavaye,
tatha dighakese upaddhamundamunde missakakese upaddharattacivare pandukacivare
padabhanadhammakathasarabhannapanhavissajjanarajanapacanacivarasibbanadhovanadini karonte,
aparepi va nanappakarake katukamo hoti, tena padakajjhanato vutthaya

"ettaka bhikkhu pathamavaya hontu"tiadina nayena parikammam katva puna
samapajjitva vutthaya adhitthatabbam. Adhitthanacittena saddhim icchitappakarayeva
hontiti. Esa nayo "bahudhapi hutva eko hoti"tiadisu. Ayam pana
viseso:- imina hi bhikkhuna evam bahubhavam nimminitva puna "ekova hutva
cankamissami, sajjhayam karissami, panham pucchissami"ti cintetva va "ayam
viharo appabhikkhuko, sace keci agamissanti, kuto ime ettaka ekasadisa bhikkhu
addha therassa esanubhavoti mam janissanti"ti appicchataya va antarava "eko
homi"ti icchantena padakajjhanam samapajjitva vutthaya "eko homi"ti parikammam
katva puna samapajjitva vutthaya "eko homi"ti adhitthatabbam. Adhitthanacittena
saddhimyeva eko hoti. Evam akaronto pana yathaparicchinnakalavasena sayameva
eko hoti.
     Avibhavanti pakatabhavam karotiti attho. Tirobhavanti paticchannabhavam karotiti
attho. Avibhavam paccanubhoti, tirobhavam paccanubhotiti purimena va sambandho.
Tatrayam iddhima avibhavam kattukamo andhakaram va alokam karoti, paticchannam
va vivattam karoti, anapatham va apatham karoti. Katham? ayam hi yathapaticchannopi
dure thitopi va dissati, evam attanam va param va kattukamo padakajjhanato
vutthaya "idam andhakaram alokajatam hotu"ti va, "idam paticchannam vivattam hotu"ti
va, "idam anapatham apatham hotu"ti va avajjitva parikammam katva vuttanayeneva
adhitthati. Saha adhitthana 1- yathaadhitthitameva hoti. Pare dure thitapi passanti,
sayampi passitukamo passati. Tirobhavam kattukamo pana alokam va andhakaram
karoti, appaticchannam va paticchannam, apatham va anapatham karoti. Katham? ayam
hi yatha paticchannopi samipe thitopi va na dissati, evam attanam va param

Va kattukamo padakajjhana vutthahitva "idam alokatthanam andhakaram hotu"ti
va, "idam appaticchannam paticchannam hotu"ti va, "idam apatham anapatham
hotu"ti va avajjitva parikammam katva vuttanayeneva adhitthati. Saha adhitthana
yathadhitthitameva hoti. Pare samipe thitapi na passanti, sayampi apassitukamo
na passati. Apica sabbampi pakatapatihariyam avibhavo nama, apakatapatihariyam
tirobhavo nama. Tattha pakatapatihariye iddhipi pannayati iddhimapi. Tam
yamakapatihariyena dipetabbam. Apakatapatihariye iddhiyeva pannayati. Na iddhima.
Tam yamakasuttena 1- ca brahmanimantanikasuttena 2- ca dipetabbam.
     Tirokuddanti parakuddam, kuddassa parabhaganti vuttam hoti. Esa nayo
tiropakaratiropabbatesu. Kuddoti ca gehabhitti. Pakaroti gehaviharagamadinam
parikkhepapakaro. Pabbatoti pamsupabbato va pasanapabbato va. Asajjamanoti
alaggamano. Seyyathapi akaseti akase viya. Evam gantukamena pana
akasakasinam samapajjitva vutthaya kuddam va pakaram va pabbatam va avajjitva
kataparikammena "akaso hotu"ti adhitthatabbo, akaso hoti. Adho
otaritukamassa, uddham va arohitukamassa susiro hoti, vinivijjhitva gantuka-
massa chiddo. So tattha asajjamano gacchati. Sace panassa bhikkhuno adhitthahitva
gacchantassa antara pabbato va rukkho va uttheti, kim puna samapajjitva
adhitthatabbanti? doso natthi. Puna samapajjitva adhitthanam hi upajjhayassa
santike nissayaggahanasadisam hoti. Imina pana bhikkhuna "akaso hotu"ti
adhitthitatta akaso hotiyeva. Purimadhitthanabaleneva cassa antara anno pabbato
va rukkho va utumayo utthahissatiti atthanametam. Annena iddhimata nimmite
pana pathamam nimmanam balavam hoti. Itarena tassa uddham va adho va gantabbam.

     Pathaviyapi ummujjanimujjanti ettha ummujjanti utthanam, nimujjanti
samsidanam, ummujjanca nimujjanca ummujjanimujjam. Evam kattukamena pana apo-
kasinam samapajjitva vutthaya "ettake thane pathavi udakam hotu"ti paricchinditva
parikammam katva vuttanayeneva adhitthatabbam. Saha adhitthana yathaparicchinne thane pathavi
udakameva hoti. So tattha ummujjanimujjam karoti seyyathapi udake. Na kevalanca
ummujjanimujjameva, nhanapanamukhadhovanabhandakadhovanadisu yam yam icchati, tam tam karoti.
Na kevalanca udakameva karoti, sappitelamadhuphanitadisupi yam yam icchati, tam tam
"idanca idanca ettakam hotu"ti avajjitva parikammam katva adhitthahantassa
yathadhitthitameva hoti. Uddharitva bhajanagatam karontassa sappi sappiyeva hoti,
teladini teladiniyeva, udakam udakameva. So tattha temitukamova temeti, na temitukamo
na temeti. Tasseva ca sa pathavi udakam hoti, sesajanassa pathaviyeva. Tattha manussa
pattikapi gacchanti, yanadihipi gacchanti, kasikammadinipi karontiyeva. Sace panayam
"tesampi udakam hotu"ti icchati, hotiyeva. Paricchinnakalam pana atikkamitva yam
pakatiya ghatatalakadisu udakam, tam thapetva avasesam paricchinnatthanam pathaviyeva
hoti.
     Udakepi abhijjamane gacchatiti ettha yam udakam akkamitva samsidati, tam
bhijjamananti vuccati, viparitam abhijjamanam. Evam gantukamena pana pathavikasinam
samapajjitva vutthaya "ettake thane udakam pathavi hotu"ti paricchinditva parikammam
katva vuttanayeneva adhitthatabbam. Saha adhitthana yathaparicchinnatthane udakam
pathaviyeva hoti, so tattha gacchati seyyathapi pathaviyam. Na kevalanca gacchati, yam
yam iriyapatham icchati, tam tam kappeti. Na kevalanca pathavimeva karoti, manisuvanna-
pabbatarukkhadisupi yam yam icchati, tam tam vuttanayeneva avajjitva adhitthati,
yathadhitthitameva hoti. Tasseva ca tam udakam pathavi hoti, sesajanassa udakameva.
Macchakacchapa ca udakakakadayo ca yatharuci vicaranti. Sace panayam annesampi
manussanam tam pathavim katum icchati, karotiyeva. Yathaparicchinnakalatikkamena pana
udakameva hoti.
     Akasepi pallankena cankamatiti antalikkhe samantato urubaddhasanena
gacchati. Pakkhi sakunoti pakkhehi yutto sakuno, na aparipunnapakkho lunapakkho
va. Tadiso hi akase gantum na sakkoti. Evamakase gantukamena pathavikasinam
samapajjitva vutthaya sace nisinno gantumicchati, pallankappamanam thanam
paricchinditva parikammam katva vuttanayeneva adhitthatabbam. Sace nipanno gantukamo
hoti, mancappamanam, sace padasa gantukamo hoti, maggappamananti evam yathanurupam
thanam paricchinditva vuttanayeneva "pathavi hotu"ti adhitthatabbam. Saha adhitthana
pathaviyeva hoti. Akase gantukamena ca bhikkhuna dibbacakkhulabhinapi bhavitabbam.
Kasma? yasma antara utusamutthana pabbatarukkhadayo honti, naga-
supannadayo va usuyanta mapenti, tesam dassanattham. Te pana disva kim
katabbanti? padakajjhanam samapajjitva vutthaya "akaso hotu"ti parikammam
katva adhitthatabbam. Apica okase orohanatthampi imina dibbacakkhulabhina
bhavitabbam. Ayam hi sace anokase nhanatitthe va gamadvare va arohati,
mahajanassa pakato hoti, tasma dibbacakkhuna passitva anokasam vajjetva
okase otaratiti.
     Imepi candimasuriye evammahiddhike evammahanubhaveti ettha candimasuriyanam
dvacattalisayojanasahassoparicaranena mahiddhikata, tisu dipesu ekakkhane aloka-
pharanena mahanubhavata veditabba, evam uparicaranaalokapharanehi va mahiddhike,
teneva mahiddhikattena mahanubhave. Paramasatiti parigganhati, ekadese va
phussati. Parimajjatiti samantato adasatalam viya parimajjati. Ayam panassa iddhi
Abhinnapadakajjhanavaseneva ijjhati, natthettha kasinasamapattiniyamo. Svayam yadi
icchati gantva paramasitum, gantva paramasati. Sace pana idheva nisinnako va
nipannako va paramasitukamo hoti, "hatthapase hotu"ti adhitthati. Adhitthanabalena
vanta muttatalaphalam viya agantva hatthapase thite va paramasati, hattham va
vaddhetva paramasati. Hattham vaddhentassa pana kim upadinnakam vaddhati anupadinnakam
vati? upadinnakam nissaya anupadinnakam vaddhati. Yo evam katva na kevalam
candimasuriye paramasati, sace icchati, padakathalikam katva pade thapeti, pitham katva
nisidati, mancam katva nipajjati, apassenaphalakam katva passayati. Yatha ca eko,
evam aparopi. Anekesupi hi bhikkhusatasahassesu evam karontesu tesanca ekamekassa
tatheva icchati. Candimasuriyananca gamanampi alokakaranampi tatheva hoti. Yatha hi
patisahassesu udakapuresu sabbapatisu candamandalani dissanti, pakatikameva candassa
gamanam alokakarananca hoti. Tathupametam patihariyam. Yava brahmalokapi kayena vasam
vattetiti brahmalokam paricchedam katva etthantare anekavidham abhinnam karonto
attano kayena vasam issariyam vatteti. Vittharo panettha iddhikathayam
avibhavissatiti.
